"Love the Old Fashioned Way"
Big Band Night
Guests arrived to a red carpet welcome, at our Big Band Night at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel just outside Guildford. After a drink at the bar, the dephoto photographer took pictures of each couple/group and guests moved into the Ballroom for the dance class with Taina Kortelainen and her partner. A fun and very impressive selection of dance moves were demonstrated and all our guests mirrored these perfectly!
Stirling Austin and his Swing Band then took to the stage and provided backing music to a high energy dance demonstration, followed by their first set of Swing tracks from the likes of Sinatra, Dean Martin, Matt Munro and many more besides. The dance floor filled within seconds and our guests practiced their newly learnt steps and enjoyed sharing a romantic dance with their partners. After a short break, all guests in attendance were entered into a free prize draw for the chance to win some wonderful prizes donated by Mark Paul Perry (International Artist), Boxed Cherry (Hampers), and Giles Travel (Holiday Vouchers). (Winners are pictured below.)
The second set of songs continued to entertain our guests and the floor remained full with couples and groups. At the end of the evening, SophistOccasion provided each of the ladies with a goodie bag from Champneys Health Spas, with gifts from LUSH in Guildford. A huge thank you to our sponsors!
